bailout schmailout

This, I think, is a perfect cartoon. I know it's important to keep banks from imploding, but I also think that it's folly to reward the sheisters who loaned ridiculous amounts of money to people who couldn't afford to repay them. Their houses get foreclosed and they're SOL, but these crooks who vastly outpaced the homeowners in screw-upness get a shake of the finger and a cushy mattress of cash to fall on, financed by people who are responsible enough to pay their taxes?? How is this at all fair or just?

It's hard to see that the bailout money goes to Wallstreet and not each individual being hit hard by all of the misuse of money (war, war, and more war included). I think it is necessary to save us from an even longer and deeper recession. NOW we need a leader who is willing to reform CEO payscales from averaging over 300% of the typical worker in their company to a capoff of 25% - stop subsidizing their taxes, stop paying their estates. Things like that... Go Obama!

In an effort to represent "the other side", it was the liberal efforts which mandated that banks offer no-doc loans to people who were risky, because they would otherwise not qualify. Of course banks went under. Then the very people who demanded this course of action, point the finger at the banks who did their bidding. Now, I'm supposed to bail out the so-called victims (who shouldn't have gotten a mortgage in the first place)? In our neighborhood, we have illegal aliens who've gotten mortgages w/o collateral or docs, who then rec'd cash in equity loans, then walked away scot-free from the houses (most of which are destroyed). This is bigger than the socialists can fix.
